
Call for Applications
Sponsored by WashU Musculoskeletal Research Center (MRC) & Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
Two WashU undergraduates will be selected to attend the upcoming Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) meeting in Charlotte, NC from March 27-31, 2026. Travel, food and lodging expenses will be fully covered by the Musculoskeletal Research Center/Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery; the ORS will provide complimentary meeting registration. The purpose of this award is to introduce undergraduate students who have had limited prior experience in STEM to the field of orthopaedic research.
Eligibility criteria
• WashU undergraduate with interest in orthopaedic research majoring in a STEM field
• Able to attend the conference: Charlotte, NC from March 27-31, 2026
• 18 years of age or older
Application instructions
• The brief application includes a resume, list of college STEM courses, and two short essays.
• Application deadline: Thu, January 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST
Selection
Applications will be reviewed by members of the MRC Activities Committee. Preference will be given as follows: sophomores, juniors and seniors who have taken multiple college STEM courses; not attended a national orthopedic/musculoskeletal research conference; demonstrated interest in research, orthopedic research and/or medicine.
