Workshop:
Writing Lay Summaries and other non-technical
descriptions of your research. It is becoming more
and more important to learn how to describe your
research in terms even your grandmother can
understand. In addition to their importance in
advocacy, increasing numbers of journals are
asking for lay summaries. Bring a recent abstract
such as from the MRC symposium, another meeting,
or a manuscript along with a draft lay summary in
100 words or less. You will share them in small groups
and revise. At the end we will share a few with the
entire room and critique them.
